In January 2012, auditions for the BRC (British Trail Consortium) were instructed to conduct their audits against the new global standards, issue 6. Their standards have been developed to enhance the development of the best food safety practice.
On January 3rd 2012, SALSA (Safe and Local Suppliers Approval) also launched into new issue 3 of their audit standards.
Both of these organisations, working in conjunctions with the British Hospitality Association (BHA) and the National Farmers Union (NFN) have added additional requirements and additional emphasis on prerequisite controls, as being fundamental building blocks of all food safety development.

The course test, accredited by City and Guilds, consists of 30, multi choice questions, of which 30 must be answered correctly to achieve success.
The City and Guilds Accredited certificate can be printed from the user PC after it has been electronically marked. Successful candidate will have their achievement recorded in the City and Guilds electronic database, the “walled Garden”.
